Uncle Bob’s Fried Chicken

As you know, I have this thing for fried chicken and I do indulge in it every once in a while. I normally do not quite like the thigh or drumstick part of the chicken which is often found at fried chicken stalls so when I stumble across Uncle Bob’s Fried Chicken, I was beyond ecstatic. Uncle Bob is definitely after my greedy tums!

This stall, found at the Farlim night market every Wednesday, sells only chicken breast meat without the skin. Sigh…it is almost too good to be true. Of course, the stall promotes it . . . → Read More: Uncle Bob’s Fried Chicken

Don’t eat at the fake Chang Kee Restaurant in Nibong Tebal

If you have heard of the famous Teochew food especially crab porridge by Cheang Kee Restaurant in Nibong Tebal, make sure you do not go to the wrong one!

We went there recently and had a rude shock when we realised the real Cheang Kee Restaurant had moved to another location while another owner has taken over its old shoplot.

We did not even bother to take pictures of the place (the old shoplot where Cheang Kee used to be) after eating the very first dish, boiled baby octopus. I did not even want to bother with taking pictures . . . → Read More: Don’t eat at the fake Chang Kee Restaurant in Nibong Tebal

Kim Gary Restaurant at Gurney Plaza

I have been to Kim Gary Restaurant at Gurney Plaza several times and since I loved most of the food there, I thought I might as well mention it here. So, we went there again for Mothers’ Day celebration and ordered quite a lot of different food from the extensive menu.

What I like about this restaurant is that they offer quite a lot of variety from different types of rice to noodles. Now, they even have snacks and starters.

So, we ordered 1 bite snack drumsticks, broccoli in white sauce, chicken chop . . . → Read More: Kim Gary Restaurant at Gurney Plaza

Penang Laksa at the night market and a recipe to make your own Laksa

One of the most unique hawker food in Penang is the Penang Assam Laksa.

I used to have this crazy obsession for Penang laksa so I have tried almost all of the ‘famous’ Penang laksa stalls in the island and even the one in Nibong Tebal! Although now I can live without eating laksa every other day, I still do crave for the fishy, sour and spicy tang that is the trademark of our Penang Assam laksa.

So, today, I will recommend one of my favourite laksa stalls which I can get on Wednesday and Saturday . . . → Read More: Penang Laksa at the night market and a recipe to make your own Laksa
