Authentic Thai Food Fair

Published by Foong at 9:48 am under Asian Food, Fusion Food, Restaurants |

Those of you into Thai Food, well, head on over the New World Park for the Thai Food Fair being held there until end of this month.

And this is not one of those traveling Thai Food Fairs that are usually being held at shopping complexes like Midlands Park and Sunshine Farlim. This is much, much better and yep, different.

The stalls are especially sourced by the Thai Consulate and it is organised by the Thai consulate so it is definitely better than those run-of-the-mill Thai fairs that are held at different locations for weeks and sometimes, months on end.

Amongst the food I bungkus (bought back) are:

Som Tam - some sort of mix vegie salad

Maeng Kam - Sirih wraps of dried shrimps, shredded coconut, peanuts, chili, onion, ginger, lime and some sauce

There are about 15 food stalls there so there are different choices of Thai food there. Do try out their:

Thai Laksa

Definitely one of my favourite food is Thai laksa. I simply love the idea of adding loads of green veg to it. Damn good ler.

The fair will be held there until Aug 31. So, if you have a craving for some authentic Thai food, you know where to go, for now.

Rating: 6/10

Price: $$$ (yes, things and food tend to be overcharged)

There are so many types of food available and impossible to eat everyone at one visit. The Thai Laksa looks good.
I had the nasi ulam and green curry that comes in a ‘banana leaf’ bowl…till now, I am still figuring out how does the banana leaf manage to keep the curry gravy from flowing out.

It’s nice to see Thai festivals and their culture being exhibited here lately. The trend is growing and it’s a good response. Who would want to miss out on Thai Laksa or Spicy real tom yam (minus the red colour) and the snacks “maeng kam”…. Oh, not forgetting the mango with glutinous rice… Yummy~!!!

Ck lam: Tell me about it. I spent about RM50 buying so many different foods there and end up not being able to finish eating all of it!

Tam Ciak of PTP: yeah, the mango with glutinous rice is damn good too. Forgot about that!
