Small little corner cafe

Published by Foong at 10:48 am under Asian Food, Where to eat |

We have been frequenting this cosy cafe for years now and still, I don’t tire of their food. Though not visible outside with no large signs, this cafe thrive on word of mouth and regular customers. Often, it’d be packed during lunch time and mainly because it only has several tiny tables for seating and yes, it isn’t exactly a high class restaurant. More like a typical Chinese coffeeshop, if you asked me.

This small cafe offers a variety for fried and soup dishes from fried rice to bee hoon soup. They also have specialty dishes on different days. Take a look at their menu:

Their nyonya laksa is to-die-for. Simply wonderful. Rich and with a tinge of sourness. It is available every Thursday. It is RM3 per bowl. On Mondays, they have the typical Penang Assam Laksa, which isn’t all that good.

Amongst the other food I like there is the…

Fried Tomyam Bee Hoon

Fried Tomyam Bee Hoon (front) and Ong Tay Mee (background)

Each dish is RM4 per plate so whatever you order, the price is standard. I would definitely recommend the Ong Tay Mee because the noodles are thin and like maggie mee but tastes better. If fried stuff is not your thing, they have soup dishes too.

The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch until about 5pm. If business is brisk, they usually ran out of the specialty dishes by two. So be early!

This shop is situated within the run-down Wisma Central building, located here. You will need to walk towards the back of the building on the ground floor and you will see it.
