Other than rice, my son absolutely loves to drink soup. In fact, he’d rather drink soup than milk! I’ve been working late into the night a lot these days (blogging and some freelance writing work) so a nice bowl of nutritious chicken soup is really good to rejuvenate my tired body.
This is a recipe for nutritious and highly healthy clear chicken soup:
Chicken and Ginseng Soup
Chicken Soup For the Tired Body (with ginseng / pao sam and Dom)
Ingredients
Half chicken, cleaned and skin removed (so that soup will not be so oily)
Oh wow. I am simply so overwhelmed! And wordless AGAIN in so little days…
I just received another award from fellow food blogger April, The Hungry Engineer.
This is the Arte y Pico.
Thanks so much April! I’m sure you’ve read how I salivated over her Fig and Prosciutto Pizza just only recently. And then after that, she posted this absolutely fabulous to-die-for Chocolate Mousse Pie Recipe. If you are a chocolate lover, go there and check it out.
Okay, I was made to understand that this award comes with strings attached…heheh..it has rules to adhere . . . → Read More: The Arte y Pico Award
I went to this month’s Little Penang Street Market last Sunday and I know it has been a few days now but I still want to post some pictures of the food they sell over at the monthly artsy bazaar.
I’ll let the pictures tell the story…

Some of the foods you can find there
The curry sausage and cakes stall by Edelweiss Restaurant
It has been awhile since we went to Kimberley Street for the variety of hawker food we can find there. So, instead of another restaurant or coffee shop, we decided to go for the good old Penang-style street hawker food along a stretch of Kimberley Street.

The one main stall we head for is this one…
The Koay Teow Th'ng / Noodles Soup stall with extras
Unlike other koay teow th’ng / beehoon th’ng (noodles / vermicelli soup) stalls, this one has side dishes to go with the noodles soup.
When I first started blogging, it was mostly a personal blog on Penang and then, I got my own domains and started this site. I’ve heard about Foodbuzz from a famous local blogger and saw the ads at several other food bloggers’ sites. So, I joined the community out of curiousity.
Then I got invited to be one of their food publishers. It sounded good to me so I immediately signed up. Look what I received for being so buzzed about Foodbuzz:
My son simply must have his rice everyday, at least, for one meal and other meals, it could be noodles, porridge or potatoes.
So, instead of cooking the usual plain white rice to go with dishes, I’d sometimes cook an all-in-one rice like my mixed beans rice or burdock root rice or easy claypot chicken rice. Yep, when it comes to rice, I do try to do more things with it!
Here’s my latest ‘creation’ where I toss in some bottled organic black bean chili sauce to give it a slightly spicy flavour:
Just only recently, I did a review of an Indian restaurant and now I am doing another one, this time, it’s an Indian vegetarian restaurant.
It is not always that I go to a vegetarian restaurant for a meal, not because I have anything against vegetarian food but mainly because of the quality of the food and the tendency for the foods to be swimming in oil. So, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptionally great food over at Annalakshmi Restaurant in the Temple of Fine Arts. It’s no wonder the restaurant is called the ‘culinary arts centre’.
