I loved to eat yogurt for breakfast or as a snack. I sometimes eat it for dessert too!
However, it is not always that I like to eat yogurt. It is more of an acquired taste. I remember when I first tried out plain natural yogurt, I could not stand the sourish taste, it tasted and smelt like spoiled milk. It made me gag. Then, I discovered the fruit-flavoured yogurt. The rest is history.
In the past, I would buy tubs of ready-made yogurt from the supermarket of various brands. That was until I discovered Easiyo, where I could make . . . → Read More: Healthy easy homemade yogurt and benefits of yogurt
We have not been to Eden Restaurant in Hutton Lane for years already. Not after one bad incident where the food were absolutely horrid and we decided not to go back there.
Anyway, to celebrate my husband’s birthday recently, we went back there to try out their set lunch. Hey, they have this September promotion where the birthday boy/girl gets to eat for free (provided that you spend over RM50 and they only give free set lunch – the cheapest one, that is).
We happen to have a lot of bananas thanks to my FIL who went banana-crazy and gave us a lot of bananas so we got rather bored of eating two to three bananas a day.
With so many bananas, we probably can’t finish it before it spoils in our tropical humid weather. Instead of letting it go to waste, might as well use the bananas to make pancakes.
I found a banana pancake recipe here but I made some modifications to it and turned it into a chocolate banana pancake. To make it even more decadent, I also added . . . → Read More: Chocolate banana pancake
Nowadays, if we want to go in search of cheap and good western food, it isn’t all that easy to find anymore. Due to the soaring prices of things (thanks to the petrol hike), most hawker stalls in coffee shops are hiking up their prices too.
A plate of chicken chop from a western food hawker stall could cost up to RM7 per plate nowadays and for what? A tiny piece of chicken with a few scrawny pieces of fries and some . . . → Read More: Reasonably priced western food at Farlim
The other day, my blender broke down on me just as I was preparing a non-bake dates and chocolate brownie recipe I got off from one of the fitness social networking sites I was on. It’s supposed to be healthy and all that since the recipe is sugar free and full of natural ingredients.
Since I usually take time to start making special desserts in the evening, it was a bit late to be rushing out to get a new blender. So, no thanks to that lousy blender, I was left with a pile of half-blended dates, almonds, pistachios . . . → Read More: Moist non-bake dates and nuts brownie recipe
I seldom go over to Bukit Mertajam in my food forays but we happened to be in the are the other day and as usual, my foodies husband took me to this nondescript coffee shop within a housing estate to try out the yam rice hawker stall (if you are not game to going there, try out the recipe below at home).
Mutriara Coffee Shop in Bukit Mertajam
Apparently, this hawker stall (it is right behind the colourful umbrella) is quite well known and is open only for breakfast and lunch. It is usually sold out by 3pm.
When we mention spaghetti, the first thing that came to mind is the tomato-based, Italian style spaghetti. You know, the one with Bolognese and loads of tomatoes. Well, there are quite a few people I know who don’t really go for the tomato-based spaghetti. Some of them find it too sour or too darn weird. Then, there’s the creamy-based spaghetti which many Asians don’t quite like too because of it’s rich, creamy base. Well, there is an Asian way to enjoy your spaghetti and it is easy to prepare too.
