Nowadays, if we want to go in search of cheap and good western food, it isn’t all that easy to find anymore. I am not even talking about restaurants here, but hawker stalls at coffee shops selling western food. Due to the soaring prices of things (thanks to the petrol hike), most hawker stalls in coffee shops are hiking up their prices too.
A plate of chicken chop from a western food hawker stall could cost up to RM7 per plate nowadays and for what? A tiny piece of chicken with a few scrawny pieces of fries and some wilted greens. Not really worth it, I tell you.
So, when I found this little stall over in Farlim, I am glad that their western food is still reasonably priced, although by no means cheap. They still have chicken chop for RM5.50 per plate.
Although I wouldn’t say their food is extremely delicious and great, it is not that bad either. The food is worth the price.
We usually don’t dine in at this coffee shop even though there are ample places to sit in when this is the only stall that’s selling food in the coffee shop in the evenings. The other day, my husband was in the vicinity and bought their Chicken Maryland for me. My son, naturally, wanted the whole thing and only gave me the bun. Since it is quite a big portion for a toddler, he didn’t finish it and I get to taste some of the chicken.
It is fried to a crunchy crispiness and unlike most hawker stalls nowadays, it is still quite a big piece of boneless chicken thigh meat. There is nothing remarkable about the taste but if you want some reasonably priced no-frills western food which does not taste bad at all, then this stall is worth the try. They do have some variety and the cheesy concoctions are quite good (in my past experience).
This set costs RM6.50, which is quite okay considering the raw chicken thigh we buy at wet markets costs around RM4 (or more at certain market) nowadays.
The stall is open from lunch time till about 10pm. It’s close on Wednesday.
Rating: 6/10
Price: $$
Here’s a location map to the place.
