I have been using Quinoa as a protein substitute in quite a lot of my recipes and sometimes, it is also quite interesting to combine it with other protein, like chicken. While there are recipes of Quinoa salad and plain Quinoa, I thought, heck, it can be cooked the Asian style too. So, why only cook it the western style?
So, here’s an Asian style Quinoa recipe that is healthy, low in fat and darn delicious too.
If you’ve read some of my other How To Cook Quinoa posts, I am sure you probably think that I have this sorta obsession with the super grain Quinoa. Well, I did come up with several ways to cook it simply because it’s a health food that’s pack full of nutrients and vitamins. Best of all it is high in protein too. Very seldom we get to find high in protein grains that is so versatile that you can actually cook it any ole way you like!
I used to make a lot of salsa, then bottle them up and keep in the freezer. I’d use them for my salads, sandwiches or even to eat with rice. It has been awhile since I made salsa. I made it with a can of evaporated milk instead of soya milk since I had that available. It is pretty easy to make actually and does . . . → Read More: Healthy Soya Milk Pudding, well sort of healthy…
I know, boiled chicken just sound so bland. And boring. And plain. But do read on and you will see that it is not bland, boring or plain. Just look at it…
Far from being boring, it is so flavourful that the remaining sauces from the boiled chicken is pure neat chicken stock. Talk about a two in one dish! And yes, this dish is pretty healthy as it involved loads of vegetables and no deep frying to be seen!
After using some of the cabbage for the pita meal and then for a Simple Cabbage Soup, I still have way loads of cabbage to cook. So, next I modified a Japanese cabbage pancake recipe and end up with a cabbage omelette. Yeah, I know it sounds darn horrible especially for those with something against cabbage, but really, it’s not all that bad.
Okay, if you really hate cabbage that much, you don’t have to suffer through this recipe. Or the next one, for that matter. I promise, after tomorrow, I won’t be posting anymore cabbage recipe. Not . . . → Read More: Cabbage recipe: An easy cabbage omelette
