For the longest time, I have always, always loved a type of rich, thick chocolate truffles I know as chocolate rum ball. I used to buy it from a bakery near my home when I was younger and then later, the bakery closed down. Over the years, I would search bakery after bakery for my favourite chocolate rum ball but I’d never get to find any that’s as good as the ones sold by the bakery I used to frequent as a child.
Sigh.
It struck me recently that I could make my own chocolate rum ball. I could . . . → Read More: Easy chocolate truffles
Before I start, let me first tell you one great news. I submitted a proposal to Foodbuzz for this month’s 24, 24, 24 event and my proposal was accepted! It was for a cookie recipe I’ve been trying out (and will probably perfect this weekend before the actual 24, 24, 24 day on Dec 31), so keep your eyes peeled for this year end to get a load of the cookies I was working on. It was not easy, I can tell you that.
If there’s anything I love more than chocolate, it’s peanut butter AND chocolate. So, just a few days after even the crumbs of the double chocolate chip cookies are gone, I made another type of cookies.
This time, I tried out the chocolate filled double delight peanut butter cookies recipe I found over at Baking Bites. I did some minor changes and the result is this…
Chocolate filled double peanut butter cookies
These cookies are so darn good and rich, I can only eat one at a time! So, here’s the recipe:
Do you ever get that sudden chocolate cookie craving which simply must be fulfilled, otherwise you feel all so irritable and down and depressed?
Well, I get that A LOT. Not because I am a very depressing person. Or that I eat loads of comfort food. But it is usually due to that time of the month when I’d have a sudden high craving for carbs and it would definitely be chocolate! And cookies. I am a cookie monster through and through.
Not a serious-life-and-death emergency but a completely different kind! I was hit by a sudden craving for chocolate cake. So, what do I do?
Well, I went on over to Jessie’s blog for her 5 minute chocolate cake recipe and also checked out this recipe at Dizzy Dee’s blog. I simply must try out one of the recipes. I chose Dizzy Dee’s recipe first.
And in typical Foong-style, I messed up changed it a bit and substituted some of the ingredients and changed my mind and decided to also use Jessie’s recipe.
I had this sudden craving for steamed cream cracker cake but it is not sold anywhere. In fact, I tried asking around to see if anyone knows the recipe and not even my grandmother could help me on that. I remember eating steamed cream cracker cake a long time ago when a family friend made it but we have since lost touch with this family friend.
So, I did the next best thing. I googled it! Unfortunately, Google didn’t help me much this time. The closest to a steamed cream cracker recipe I could get to was the Sweet . . . → Read More: Steamed Cream Cracker Cake
I loved to eat yogurt for breakfast or as a snack. I sometimes eat it for dessert too!
However, it is not always that I like to eat yogurt. It is more of an acquired taste. I remember when I first tried out plain natural yogurt, I could not stand the sourish taste, it tasted and smelt like spoiled milk. It made me gag. Then, I discovered the fruit-flavoured yogurt. The rest is history.
In the past, I would buy tubs of ready-made yogurt from the supermarket of various brands. That was until I discovered Easiyo, where I could make . . . → Read More: Healthy easy homemade yogurt and benefits of yogurt
