Easy flourless lemon cheesecake recipe

Cheesecakes are probably the only type of cake that I could eat a lot of. Other than chocolate cakes and brownies, that is. That’s why, I decided to try baking it myself rather than keep buying from bakeries. Of course, when it comes to recipes, I always choose the easy ones. With two little ones underhand (or underfoot) most of the time, I had no choice but to do things fast and this includes baking.

Lemon cheesecake is probably the most common and quite easy type of cheesecake to make. The best part about baking the cake myself . . . → Read More: Easy flourless lemon cheesecake recipe

Homemade English tea scones

Who needs to go to Cameron Highlands for some English tea scones when you can make it at home? I am not really a scone fan but then, that’s because I’ve never had really good ones until I tried some really good ones in Cameron Highland’s Ye Olde Smokehouse Hotel. Those are really amazing.

So.

I decided to make it myself. I mean, if I can bake up cakes and cookies, what are scones, right? Right. So, I went searching around the net and found several recipes until I decided to take whatever I feel comfortable with and wing . . . → Read More: Homemade English tea scones

Foodbuzz 24, 24, 24: 24 Cookies in 24 Flavours

Phew, it’s been a busy day what with all that mixing and baking for my Foodbuzz 24, 24, 24 entry. As you all know, I’m a Cookie Monster through and through so it is no surprise that I submitted a proposal to Foodbuzz for the 24, 24, 24 event and it involved cookies!

I’m sure most of you are intriqued by the title: 24 cookies in 24 flavours. Well, to put it simply, I baked two dozens of cookies and every single one of it is a different flavour. Sounds daunting? Rich Dark Flourless Chocolate Cake

It’s been awhile since I baked a flourless chocolate cake so recently, I decided to bake one. Mainly because I owe it to a diabetic friend who’s been drooling after this cake ever since I told her about the recipe! This is what made her pester me day and night to make it just for her.

So, late one night, I got down to baking this cake just for her. Since she’s diabetic and can’t take too much sweet stuff, I cut down on the sugar used and I substituted granulated sugar with brown sugar. I also used . . . → Read More: Rich Dark Flourless Chocolate Cake

If there’s anything I love more than chocolate, it’s peanut butter AND chocolate. So, just a few days after even the crumbs of the double chocolate chip cookies are gone, I made another type of cookies.

The Cookie Monster Bakes – Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

Do you ever get that sudden chocolate cookie craving which simply must be fulfilled, otherwise you feel all so irritable and down and depressed?

Well, I get that A LOT. Not because I am a very depressing person. Or that I eat loads of comfort food. But it is usually due to that time of the month when I’d have a sudden high craving for carbs and it would definitely be chocolate! And cookies. I am a cookie monster through and through.

Anyway, due to the recent melamine scare, I am staying off store-bought cookies for a while. Also, . . . → Read More: The Cookie Monster Bakes – Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

The one post when apples aren’t low-calorie and healthy

First, before I start, let me write something about The Food Critic aka My Personal Chef and his hate-hate relationship with desserts.

He hates most desserts. Cakes, pies, cookies and yes *gasp* even chocolates. Which explains his difficulty in putting on weight.

So, each time I decided to bake something, I’d end up eating the whole lot. Every. Single. Time. Which explains my difficulty in losing weight.

And then, there were some changes. He suddenly starts eating some of the desserts I made. Maybe it’s because of the frosty silence I had whenever I offered him some piping hot . . . → Read More: The one post when apples aren’t low-calorie and healthy
