Pomelos are pretty common here in Malaysia, especially in Perak where it is much cheaper and juicier and sweeter. However, it is very much an Asian fruit, much like papayas or bananas or jambu batu (guava) so it is very rare that it can be found in Europe or America.

When we talk about cherries, usually the thought of sweetened cherries came to mind. You know, the types that were used on cakes and ice cream.

In actual fact, the fresh, un-treated, unsweetened cherries aren’t all that sweet. It tasted like any berry and yes, it has a sourish tinge to it. Cherries are good for health.

Great breakfast to start the day

I normally do not know what to eat for breakfast and usually rely on cereal or just bread with a glass of milk. Yes, I still drink milk in the mornings although now I alternate between milk and soya milk. It’s a habit I picked up years ago and did not see any reason to stop.

Sometimes, when I have the time, I’d prepare french toast and eat it together with some fruits. Recently, I bought from nectarines which I felt are really delicious with its nice sweetish-sourish tang to really awaken the senses.

The place to get coconut water

There is nothing more refreshing than a drink of coconut water especially during hot, sunny days where humidity is high and the heat is overwhelming. However, if you were to go to a coffee shop or a restaurant to order a glass of coconut water, be prepared for a watered down coconut drink with sugar and ice. And it is often overpriced too.

Durian season started quite a while back (in late April) but earlier on in the season, the fruits were not so good and the price also not so cheap. So, I usually waited till near the end of the season before buying durians and stuffing myself silly till I scare everyone away with my Durian Breath!
