Where NOT to buy chocolates

As a chocolate lover, I am always on the lookout for a great place to buy chocolates and I absolutely love the specialty handmade ‘designer’ chocolate shops in a few shopping complexes in KL.

It is too bad that there are no such shops here in Penang but I can probably understand that there are probably not much market here since those chocolates are really expensive and we all know how kiamsiap (stingy) Penangites are.

Yummy local treats!

We took a trip to Nibong Tebal recently and of course stopped by to get one of my favourite local treats at one of the famous local..err…’manufacturers’.

The shop isn’t easy to find as it is located along a narrow lorong off the sleepy town of Jawi and about 5 mins drive from the well-known Cheang Kee Restaurant of crab porridge fame. We did stop by at Cheang Kee for lunch, though and needless to say the food were still just as good and still affordable!
